Heezen is Raül Fuentes. He's a non-musician from the city of Castello in the east of Spain. As he told me, Eno was a non-musician. Satie also didn't study it.
Raül extracts the technique of sampling old vinyl-records from hip hop and combines it with minimal synthesizer- and guitar-loops, a lot of bizarre found-sounds, fragments of vocals and a few drops of psychedelica. there's some kind of strange musique concrète-atmosphere in his tracks that makes me think of late 60's avantgarde films and ambiguous surrealists like René Magritte, Man Ray or collagist Max Ernst. His loops are like spirals of fireworks that interfere with each other to build new patterns of sounds and melody.
On his Secret Speech EP, Raül combines two sets of tracks he already released one on his own: Fractura, Pirotecnia and Martin De Vivies are in the middle of the EP. These tracks got a pretty straight beat and intensify layer-by-layer. Raül bridges from electroacoustic minimal-music to deep house, home-grown electronica and back. For the other three tracks, Raül comes up with a more ambient vibe. You can find pulsing synthesizers (Secret Speech), a complex composition of guitar, certain glitches, sampled vocals and a string section (Lastre) and the smooth, introspective cut-up collage of Le Cannard that marks the end of the EP.
Heezen created a dark sparkling gem of electroacoustica. His influences are legion, but due to his abilities as a sound-designer and songwriter, he managed to destillate them all in highly conclusive compositions that never forget about a certain amount of catchyness and, yeah, emotionality.

This was one of the first netlabel releases I downloaded, and remains one of my favorites. It seems like the whole thing, or at least most of it, consists
...
of samples - but what samples! Carefully but unpredictably warped and combined, looped in an almost granular fashion, reversed, mangled and twisted to endless fascination, these are the work of a master. Lots of highlights, from the dancey "Pirotecnia" to the almost haunting title track.

From ... www.heezenmusic.net:
"Minimalist concrete sound. Heezen is Raül Fuentes, a “non-musician” from the city of Castello in the east of Spain. Raul’s work is similar to Eno’s while he himself admittingly work with some of Satie’s idea using concrete sound. An ambient minimalist work, filled with field recording, guitar loops, speeches, Heezen’s work fit nicely as surrealist film soundtrack. More importantly, his album has sound texture that I currently look for, combination of acoustic and electronic sound. My fav.Pirotecnia is a hypnotic minimalist repetition with deliciously layered rythm."

(...)“Secret Speech” album (September 2006) whose six tracks are a surreal collage of sample-based electronica and electroacoustic sounds derived from old vinyl recordings, found sounds, guitar loops, and vocal fragments along with some laptop processing. “Lastre” and the “Secret Speech” are two representative tracks.(...)

"What splendid days ! ... Beautiful netaudios succeed to other, and non less, beautiful netaudios and it must be said, it is quite delicate to follow this infernal movement. Then, after such a great party, the hangover will gonna to be brutal, one day or another. Anyway, as said somewhere Miss County "tomorrow is another day" …
Who are those :: secret speech, all made of particles of souvenirs, extracted from the memory of Raül Fuentes, or was it from old vinyl treasures. A few guitar tunes, a reminiscence of Willian Klein iconography or Jean Seberg selling the “New York herald tribune” on the Champs Elysées, a limpid writing. These secrets are all made of magic. Splendid days !"
